ALFA Oven VIRTUAL Pizza + Cocktail Party

Join us for a *virtual* pizza & cocktail party and discover how to maximize your cooking and entertaining space by moving it outdoors this winter!

Our presentation will start with local mixologist Brian Colon, who will stir up a warm & wintry cocktail featuring spirits from Lancaster Distilleries. Then we will be joined by Michael Stone from ALFA Ovens who will demonstrate how to bake wood-fired pizza to perfection, along with a delicious crab dip and dessert (time permitting). Find Michael’s crab dip recipe below.

All local viewers will be invited to participate in a drawing to win two pizza cookbooks.

In addition, we’ll be offering a complimentary two-piece tool set for all attendees who order an ALFA Oven before January 15, 2021 ($199 value).

Viewers who plan to follow along with Brian Colon’s demonstration can find the recipes below.  Click here to learn more about Lancaster Distilleries Oaked Rum and to find options to purchase prior to the event.

Oaked Rum Old Fashioned

Notes from mixologist Brian Colon: “The oaked rum provides notes of vanilla, molasses, charred oak and raisin but delivers a whiskey-like finish to complement its true origins of an old fashioned. Adding 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to create aroma such as herbs, fruits and spices and complexity to the cocktail to elevate its flavors providing hints of clove, cinnamon and gentian along with other fruits and spices. Adding to the complexity I add 2 dashes of orange bitter to provide sweet and bitter citrus density to this simple but complex drink. Finishing this concoction I add 1/2 oz of simple syrup to bridge everything together and give this cocktail the slight sweetness and smoothness that it needs to create balance and provide the perfect old fashioned.”

2 oz Lancaster Distilleries Oaked Rum
1/2 ounce simple syrup (if making your own boil 1 to 1 sugar and water for about 5 to 10 mins)
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
2 Dashes Orange Bitters

Add all ingredients in mixing glass, add ice and stir for about 20 seconds. Strain over fresh ice or large cube (slow dilution of drink with large cube). Garnish with an orange peel and enjoy!

2 oz. Lancaster Distilleries Oaked Rum
½ oz. lime Juice
½ oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
2 oz. pear nectar

Combine all ingredients with ice in a Collins Glass. Stir until chilled, about 30 seconds.
