Penn Stone Customer Service Update: March 31, 2020

At Penn Stone, we remain focused on complying with Pennsylvania’s stay-at-home order in response to the coronavirus public health crisis, and we continue to operate with a reduced staff and limited hours. But we are also committed to supporting construction contractors continuing to perform work at this time within the permitted sectors as described here or with an approved waiver from Pennsylvania DCED.

Our industry group, “Building Material and Supplies Dealers,” is permitted to be open at this time, and during the past two weeks we have had many requests from landscape contractors and masonry contractors working on exempt projects to provide them with materials.

Our operating policy as of March 31, 2020 is below.

We are open for contractor customer service only at this time.

For all other customers, we will be ready to service your order after the stay-at-home order is lifted. We encourage you to contact us now with orders or questions. We are eager to communicate with you about your project, answer any questions, and provide pricing, and we will follow up at the proper time to make pickup or delivery arrangements.

For contractors:

  • We are scheduling deliveries four days per week, Monday through Thursday*
  • We are offering yard pickup four days per week, Monday through Thursday* from 8am to noon (see below for details)
  • We are offering self-service curbside pickup (see below for details)
  • We can not accommodate unscheduled yard pickups at this time

* this week we will also be offering deliveries and yard pickup on Friday, April 3

For contractors placing an order for delivery or pickup:

  • All orders must be placed in advance:
    • To order via email send messages to orders@pennstone.com
    • To order by phone call 717.397.5264 and follow the phone system prompts
  • No changes will be permitted after the order is received
  • Deliveries will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis
  • For contractors placing an order for yard pickup with forklift loading:
    • Place your order as described above
    • You will be assigned a specific time slot to avoid multiple customers in our yard simultaneously
    • You will receive an order confirmation by email or phone with additional instructions regarding arrival and loading procedures
  • For contractors placing an order for self-service curbside pickup:
    • Place your order as described above
    • When your order is ready, you will receive an email or phone confirmation, at which point you can pick up anytime

Yard loading procedures are as follows:

  • We will be providing contactless customer service.
  • Please be sure to should arrive at your scheduled time
  • Call 717.397.5264 upon arrival for instructions
  • Do not enter the office
  • If you do not arrive at your scheduled time you will be required to remain outside of Penn Stone’s yard until the next available loading time. We will call with instructions when we are ready to begin loading your order.
  • Drivers must remain in the truck during loading.
  • After loading is complete, the driver may exit the truck to secure the load
  • No order documentation will be provided at time of pickup
  • For customers without a charge account, payment arrangements must be made in advance, and credit card payments are strongly preferred. Invoices will be provided via email upon request.
  • For charge accounts, invoices will be emailed or will be mailed with the month-end statement

For all other customers:
