Engineering considerations will be examined in detail with regard to slopes\, surcharges\, hydrostatic pressures\, fences\, etc. Soil analysis and site considerations\, and modes of wall failure will be reviewed. \nLearning Objectives: After completion of this presentation\, designers and specifiers will be able to: \n\nDescribe the factors of safety required to be met in wall engineering.\nHave an understanding on gravity versus geo-grid reinforced walls\nCompare hand-set versus machine-set retaining wall block systems.\nUnderstand the effects of hydrostatic pressures and loading surcharges on wall structures.\nDetermine cause of wall failure and be able to make recommendations\n\nThis program qualifies for 1 Learning Unit. \nThis session is free to attend. \nThe presentation will begin at 1pm. Click the links below for Penn Stone’s pages on Facebook or Instagram to launch the live stream. \nClick here to find Penn Stone on Facebook \nClick here to find Penn Stone in Instagram \nMichael Stone’s Crab Dip \n16 oz. lump crab meat\n¾ cup mayonnaise\n1-½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning\n1 cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese\n½ cup triple-cheddar cheese \nHeat oven to 375º F\nCombine cheddar cheese\nIn a bowl\, combine 1 cup shredded cheese blend\, crab meat\, mayonnaise and Old Bay – mix thoroughly\nTransfer crab meat blend to a cast iron pan or high-temp casserole dish\nTop with remaining shredded cheese blend\, and cover with aluminum foil\nBake covered for 10 minutes\nRemove foil\, and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes \n\nOaked Rum Old Fashioned \nNotes from mixologist Brian Colon: “The oaked rum provides notes of vanilla\, molasses\, charred oak and raisin but delivers a whiskey-like finish to complement its true origins of an old fashioned. Adding 2 dashes of Angostura bitters to create aroma such as herbs\, fruits and spices and complexity to the cocktail to elevate its flavors providing hints of clove\, cinnamon and gentian along with other fruits and spices. Adding to the complexity I add 2 dashes of orange bitter to provide sweet and bitter citrus density to this simple but complex drink. Finishing this concoction I add 1/2 oz of simple syrup to bridge everything together and give this cocktail the slight sweetness and smoothness that it needs to create balance and provide the perfect old fashioned.” \n2 oz Lancaster Distilleries Oaked Rum\n1/2 ounce simple syrup (if making your own boil 1 to 1 sugar and water for about 5 to 10 mins)\n2 dashes Angostura Bitters\n2 Dashes Orange Bitters \nAdd all ingredients in mixing glass\, add ice and stir for about 20 seconds. Strain over fresh ice or large cube (slow dilution of drink with large cube). Garnish with an orange peel and enjoy! \n\nOaked Rum Pear Swizzle \n2 oz. Lancaster Distilleries Oaked Rum\n½ oz. lime Juice\n½ oz. St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur\n2 oz. pear nectar \nCombine all ingredients with ice in a Collins Glass. Stir until chilled\, about 30 seconds. \n  \n  \n
