SUMMARY:AIA Accredited Program: Enhanced Performance Installation Systems for Adhered Masonry Veneer
DESCRIPTION:On January 31 at 1pm Penn Stone will host an AIA-accredited program\, Enhanced Performance Installation Systems for Thin Adhered Masonry Veneer\, presented by Laticrete. \nThis CEU will focus on new installation methods\, substrates and waterproofing options for Adhered Masonry Veneer (Thin Brick\, Manufactured Stone and Thin Natural Stone) exterior façade finishes. Standards development and code compliance will be discussed. A case study overview will be presented between materials used and costs for a traditional masonry construction versus a thin adhered lightweight veneer structure. Attendees will gain an overall understanding of some of the new building envelope construction methods and will develop a better understanding of the influence of energy efficient design on construction trends. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the design principles and products related to thin adhered masonry veneer.\nCompare and contrast the traditional versus new technology installation systems to adhere thin veneer products to the exterior façade of a building.\nReview standards development and code compliance for adhered masonry veneers.\nDevelop a better understanding of how the green trend is affecting core and shell design\, and the future requirements for incorporating energy efficiency into structures.\nAnalyze the cost comparison between traditional methods and new technology installation methods for adhered masonry\n\nThis program qualifies for 1 Learning Unit\, HS&W. \nThis session is free to attend. \nThe presentation will begin at 1pm. All attendees are welcome to arrive at 12:30pm to enjoy complimentary lunch.

SUMMARY:AIA Accredited Program: Enhancing Thin Masonry Veneer with Metal Support Systems
DESCRIPTION:Join us at 1:00pm on Tuesday\, January 10 when we host Glen-Gery Brick to present an AIA-accredited seminar on “Enhancing Thin Masonry Veneer with Metal Support Systems.” \nThis program examines the design and performance characteristics of metal backing systems that mechanically support thin masonry veneers. Comparisons between various systems and traditionally-laid face brick masonry are made and critical design and installation factors are reviewed. Performance tests that establish code compliance of proprietary thin veneer support systems are identified. Strategies for water penetration\, structural performance\, thermal efficiency and NFPA 285 approval are presented. \nThis seminar is free to attend and offers one AIA credit. \nAll attendees are welcome to arrive at 12:30pm to enjoy complimentary lunch.

SUMMARY:Architectural Presentation: Cleaning Permeable Pavement Joints
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday September 25\, Penn Stone welcomes Pine Hall Brick and Pave Tech Hardscape Outfitters for an architectural presentation featuring PaveTech’s TYPHOON Maintenance System for permeable pavement joint material. \nTYPHOON uses high pressure and volume of compressed air to break through the permeable pavement joint crust\, loosening and pneumatically excavating joint sediment and clogged chip rock. It is followed by the PAVEVAC\, attached to a high volume high lift vacuum truck or trailer. PAVEVAC removes all the excavated material on the surface and loose material from the joints to a specified depth in preparation to refill the joints and rehabilitate the PICP pavement to original storm water infiltration performance. \nThis presentation is offered in conjunction with the Lancaster City Stormwater Bureau and will take place at the Walnut Street angle parking adjacent to Lancaster Brewing Company.  A local landscape contractor\, Broderick’s Landscaping\, will demonstrate the TYPHOON at 4:30pm and an architectural presentation on permeable pavements will begin at 5:00pm. Presentation attendees will earn one ASLA CEU credit. \nJoin us for a cocktail reception following the presentation\, courtesy of Pine Hall. \nPreview the TYPHOON Maintenance System in the video below: \nhttps://youtu.be/u7Mwn82wErc
