SUMMARY:Competent Person Training for Respirable Silica Safety\, presented by ABC Keystone
DESCRIPTION:As of September 23\, 2017\, OSHA’s Silica regulations have been put into place\, and employers are required to have a Competent Person to oversee the day to day operations and to minimize the exposures related to respirable crystalline silica. Attend this seminar to gain the knowledge and skills required to be considered a competent person for silica\, and will address the following topics: \n\nOSHA’s Silica Standard\nThe role of the silica competent person\nThe applicable regulatory requirements\nIdentifying the silica-containing materials common to a jobsite\nThe hazards associated with silica exposures and the signs and symptoms of exposure\nThe means by which one can determine if silica is present\nTasks that most commonly create exposure levels at or above OSHA’s Action Level\nRequirements for implementing a respiratory protection program and respirator selection\n\nThis four-hour training session is presented by ABC Keystone\, and attendees receive a certificate of completion following the seminar.  Registration fees are as follows: \n\nABC Keystone member: $90\nNon-member: $140\n\nClick here to register: https://abckeystone.org/event/competent-person-training-for-silica-jan-2019/ \n
